ABOUT DAWN
This isn’t your average “about me” page.
I’m not here to sell you perfection.
I’m not here to quote scripture out of context.
And I’m definitely not here to fit back into a box I worked so hard to escape.
Who I Am
My name is Dawn Stilwell — author, speaker, soul mirror, and sacred rebel.
I help divine misfits break free from dogma, reclaim their voice, and come home to themselves.
But I didn’t start there.
Where I Come From
I grew up with God — and guilt.
Like so many of us, I was handed a faith wrapped in shame, silence, and impossible expectations.
I learned early how to smile in the pews while quietly questioning everything.
How to stay small, say the right words, and ignore the storm rising in my own soul.
I tried to be good.
I tried to be quiet.
I tried to be lovable by their standards.
But truth has a way of burning through what cages you.
My Becoming
My breaking point became my becoming.
Eventually, I stopped pretending.
Stopped apologizing for asking hard questions.
Stopped confusing obedience with love.
I walked away from performative religion and started listening inward —
to the sacred voice that never once called me “too much.”
Since then, I’ve:
- Written the book they didn’t want me to write
- Created healing tools for holy wounds
- Helped others rewild their faith, reclaim their worth, and rewrite their story
Not because I’ve figured it all out —
but because I finally stopped hiding.
What I Believe Now
I believe you don’t need to be saved — you need to be seen.
I believe you’re not broken — you’re breaking free.
I believe sacred can be messy, angry, playful, loud, and beautifully unfinished.
I believe God is bigger, softer, and more inclusive than anything we were taught.
And I believe that if you’re here, reading this…
You’re being called home —
not to the old version of yourself,
but to the wild, wondrous, fully alive you.
If my words feel like a mirror — stay a while.
You’ll find soul tools.
You’ll find stories.
You’ll find space to breathe.
And most of all —
you’ll find that you were never too much.
You were just too sacred to tame.
